The ASPCA has plenty of dogs available for adoption and waiting for loving homes.
Thank you for your interest in adopting from the ASPCA Adoption Center! Please take a look at our adoptable dogs and cats below, and if you’re interested in adopting, complete an adoption survey for that pet. For kitten adoption, you may visit the Adoption Center in-person during our walk-in hours. For all our other animals, please wait to visit us in-person until you’ve heard from our team and scheduled an appointment. If our team determines that you and the pet you’ve applied for are a good match, you’ll hear from us with more information about our adoption process—which may take up to a week.
Thanks again for your interest in the ASPCA! We’re excited to help you find your match.
If you are looking to adopt a dog or adult cat, an appointment is required, no walk-ins are accepted. After you fill out an adoption survey and we determine that it is a good match, we will reach out to you to set up an appointment. Please wait to hear from us before visiting in-person.
Please note that all adult cats and some kittens who are available for adoption will be required to go home in a secure pet carrier. If you already own a secure pet carrier, we encourage you to bring it with you when you come to adopt. We strongly urge all adopters, especially those adopting cats over nine months old, to invest in a secure pet carrier. For your convenience, we have these pet carriers available for purchase or rent for a fee of $40.
NYC residents will need to pay applicable DOH dog license fees.
Dog License Fees
Spayed or Neutered, Any Age | $8.50 |
Non-Spayed or Neutered, Over 4 Months | $34.00 |
